From 3 till 5 May an annual competition UzTEA Excellence in Teaching English Award took place at Samarkand secondary school N 35. Six participants from different schools (Aziz Latypov, Albina Khayretdinova, Arevhat Simonyants, Karina Avanesova, Damira Abdusalyamova, Nigina Muhsinova) showed 30-minute demo lessons. Criteria announced to the participants in advance were used by jury to evaluate the lessons. Judges were pleased to see growth of professional skills of the participants demonstrating interesting and creative lessons.

At the end of the competition the following results were announced: The first prize winner is Aziz Latypov, secondary school N 53 The second prize winner is Nigina Muhsinova, secondary school N 37 The third prize winner is Albina Khayretdinova, seconday school N 29
