ETTE Mentor Trainer Training Course
Kathmandu, Nepal
17 - 26 August, 2009
Namaste!
This word we heard everywhere in Kathmandu, Nepal, where 2 teams of mentors, METTEs and Extraordinary Ex-Caterpillars, met in August. The meeting in Kathmandu was an opportunity for us to share experience which we had gained while communicating with our mentees and to explore new information on designing mentoring courses relevant to local context of different countries we came from.
How happy we were to see dear faces of the people we made friends in Romania and Uzbekistan! The group work and tasks we got during the meeting as well as shopping which, according to our own, almost scientific explanation, has been one of humans’ basic psychological needs, united us even more.
We had a city tour and we were lucky to visit one of greatest spiritual centres, monastery Kopan, and Bhaktapur, the ancient capital of Nepal. We enjoyed an unforgettable cultural program on the last day of our meeting. Thanks to the British Council, Nepal for the organization of all the events.
I would like to thank Angi, Doina and Ada for their kind professional and personal support which was always an inexhaustible source of inspiration and enthusiasm for us.
My dear Nepalese friends, BK, Gyanu, Janak, Dak, thank you for being my guides in your fantastic city. Nepal is full of wonders, but nothing is more valuable for me than your friendship.
BK, the seeds you gave me for my friend, are still unidentified. However, the sprouts are growing and we watch them developing with great interest.
I hope to see you all again,
Victoria Demidova
