ETTE MENTORING AND PEER SUPPORT TRAINING

Mentoring and Peer Support seminar is essential for sustainability of the ETTE project, because it provides EL teachers with sound basis for their further professional and personal development. During the seminar participants are expected to share their experience in pairs and groups, discuss a variety of educational issues and do a lot of role-play.

Objectives:

  1. Introduce the conceptions of mentoring, peer support and other related conceptions
  2. Make participants aware of significance of the mentoring and peer support for efficient teaching
  3. Practise a number of activities for deeper understanding of the concepts
  4. Establish the atmosphere fostering professional discussions
  5. Encourage participants to start mentoring and peer support in their schools

Participants are expected to get involved actively in the seminar, to read professional articles and communicate with colleagues in order to be able to apply the conceptions of mentoring and peer support to their local context.

Outcomes:

  1. Participants will be able to start mentoring and peer support groups in their regions
  2. Participants will be able to discuss a number of professional issues
  3. Participants will be able to find solutions to professional challenges

There were 30 participants from different regions of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan and a team of trainers from Uzbekistan (Victoria Demidova, Farangiz Shokirova, Natalia Khamidova and Nosirjon Davlatov)
